The sharing of bread and wine together when we take Holy Communion is a special part of our worship life at Promenade. It's a time when we remember all the great things that God has done for the world, especially in the life, death, and rising from the grave of Jesus. It's a time when we celebrate Jesus' offer of life in its fullness to all, and God's promise to empower us by his Holy Spirit.
Ours is 'an open table'; which means that if you would normally receive communion in your own church then you are welcome to receive at Promenade.
We follow the policy of the wider Methodist church concerning children and communion: baptised children are very welcome to receive communion, with the permission of their parents, and following appropriate instruction.
This means that at Promenade you will see all ages, from the very old to the very young, kneeling together as part of God's family, sharing God's gifts and marvelling at God's goodness to us all.
